4 Days Tour from Marrakech to Fes via the Desert – Merzouga

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your Marrakech accommodation. We’ll ascend into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m) with stops for panoramic photos. The journey continues to the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, where you’ll explore its ancient, earthen-walled kasbahs. Afterward, we travel along the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" through Ouarzazate before arriving at your hotel in the dramatic Dades Valley for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we’ll drive through beautiful landscapes to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where you can walk beside its sheer limestone cliffs. The route then leads towards the Sahara, passing through Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops. You’ll arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga in the afternoon. Here, you’ll mount a camel for a serene camel trek into the heart of the dunes to watch a unforgettable sunset. You’ll spend the night at a well-appointed desert camp, enjoying a traditional dinner and music under the stars.

Wake early to witness the sublime sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll return by camel or vehicle to Merzouga. The day is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga desert region. This can include a visit to the village of Khamlia for spiritual Gnawa music, an off-road excursion to fossil sites, and the unique opportunity to share tea with a local nomad family in their tent. You’ll enjoy a second, more relaxed night at the desert camp, soaking in the profound silence and beauty of the Sahara desert.

After a final desert breakfast, we begin the journey north to Fes. The road takes you through the stunning oasis of the Ziz Valley, with its vast palm groves, and onward to Midelt in the foothills of the Middle Atlas. The landscapes transform as you cross the mountains, eventually descending towards the imperial city of Fes. You will be dropped off at your accommodation in the early evening, concluding your remarkable 4 days tour from Marrakech to Fes.
